03 Jun The Holy Spirit
Welcome to the month of June, tagged our month of Covenant Power (Acts 1:8)
We can’t thank God enough for his faithfulness in allowing us witness the last month in the first half of the year and we trust that His faithfulness will remain in the latter half of the year.
With this in mind we came into Gods presence with our dancing shoes on, and our hearts longing for worship as the GX Choir led us in praise ministration.
The promise for the week was then taken from Micah 7:7
“I will look to the Lord and wait on the God of my salvation.”
Special performances were then done by Sam, a Spoken Word Artist, The GX Choir with a song titled ‘This is the day’ and The Limit Breakers drama group.
Pastor Bisoye was then on stage to give us the word, which was based on our theme for the month.
Title: The Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4)
When Jesus was resurrected into Heaven, God promised His disciples a helper, the Holy Spirit was given to us by God to guide and direct us. In fact, this is what differentiates Christians from non- Christians.
The Holy Spirit was first given to the disciples, John 20:22 to guide them since Jesus was no longer physically with them.
In the book of John 21, it shows how Simon Peter went fishing but couldn’t catch any fish until the Holy Spirit ministered unto him, likewise we as Christians, anytime we try to do things without the Holy Spirit, the reward is fleeting. The Holy Spirit directs in every area of our lives, our relationships, studies, decisions. He is ever speaking and directing, but you have to be willing to open your heart and allow Him in.
The Holy Spirit is also our comforter for times when we are down and weary, He is there to encourage us and uplift our spirit.
We often feel like we don’t need Him and so can do things in our own strength, but the Holy Spirit can double the effect of our own effort. The most important thing is to be led by the Holy Spirit.
“Stop chasing after peripheral and material things, once you have the Holy Spirit, other things will be added to you, He will make you stand out, you will understand your capacity. He wants to manifest His power in our lives, but first off, we need to have the right relationship with Jesus and acknowledge Him as our Lord and saviour”, she said.
