Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, PJ as he is popularly called, is the resident Pastor at church 3:16, he holds a degree in Business administration from Oral Robert’s University USA and is also a Nollywood actor as well as a singer and rapper.

Sermon: As an introduction to the theme of Emerge, Unleashed, Pastor J tells us that the word ‘unleashed’ may refer to the release of power, potential or energy.

Genesis 1-3 speaks on how the earth was created out of nothing.

“We always feel that to create anything in life, we need raw materials, but God created the earth out of nothing, he only spoke to the atmosphere. It may seem like we have nothing, but all it takes is to speak to create something out of nothing”.

In verse 6-24, God created the heavens, the earth, animals etc., but realised there was a void to be filled. That void was man.

In verse 26, He spoke to himself whilst creating man unlike in the other creations where He spoke to the atmosphere. The reason being that He wanted to make man in His own image.

Some people often wonder why they were created without realising God created them for a purpose.

“The value of a creation is dependent on the creator. However, the condition of a masterpiece affects its value. Your value is infinite because the one who created you is infinite. God is limitless, unstoppable, so are you. We are more than conquerors. We have been created for His good works”.

In verse 20-26, we can learn that “The domain you were created is directly proportional to the power you have”.

“You have power, dominion over anywhere you find yourself because the one who created you has power over everywhere.

Genesis 1:28 tells us about fruitfulness and dominion.

“Your fruitfulness is not tied to the condition of the soil, your fruitfulness was programmed in your DNA, that anywhere you go, fruitfulness will follow. Decide that because you are from the seed of Heaven, fruitfulness is yours. However, there are different types of fruits which yield at different seasons. Everybody’s race is different and everyone has a season”.

Formulas for fruitfulness

  • In your ability to attain wealth, you have to remember the lord your God. Deuteronomy 8:18
  • To receive, you have to release what you have. To get, you have to give.
  • Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all diligence. Matthew 25:23, Proverbs 22:29.

Points to note

  • Sometimes the key to victory is a shut door
  • Troubles are the tools God uses to take us to the next level.
  • God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.
